It’s Time for Tasty Treats: Spoonflower Design Challenge Recap
Mar 28, 2024

It’s time yet again for a Spoonflower Design Challenge recap. First up the winners for the A Trip to the Beach challenge were announced. This was a fun challenge with lots of really cool entries. The top winner was Patricia Lima with her very stylish Sandcastle Beach design. Congratulations to Patricia and to all the top designers!

This week we have a treat, well 16 pages worth of treats, to be exact. That’s how many pages of entries I scrolled through to vote in the Treat Yourself challenge. Word to the wise, if you haven’t yet voted on this new batch of entries you might not want to do so on an empty stomach, because these tasty entries may make you hungry!

There were a whole lot of delcious designs. The vast majority were sweet treats with lots of frozen treats, candy, cookies and cakes, but there were also a number of savory entries and a surprising number of lobsters. Are shellfish having a moment? Perhaps this is a current or upcoming trend, for those of you who keep track of these sorts of things. All in all, it was a fun assortment of designs for this challenge.

For my own entry I went with a frozen treat design, which is actually related to my A Trip to the Beach entry. My Frozen Custard’s Last Stand pattern was inspired by trips to the boardwalk and getting a frozen custard cone. My favorite flavor was always strawberry banana twist.

I definitely had some fun creating my frozen custard cones design, as well as some other coordinating designs for my beach-themed Spoonflower collection that I’ll share with you soon.

Next up I’ll have to figure out what to create for the Textured and Tonal Wallpaper challenge which opens in two weeks. In the meantime, good luck to all the Treat Yourself designers!
